I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to the many people who have helped promote this campaign and to my many friends and family across the nation. We have had a lot of very good support.
Unfortunately, this was not a great year for conservative republicans across this great nation. I believe our message is still the right message and is one that I will continually personally promote.
I am a life-long learner and am excited about taking the lessons I've learned from this campaign and applying them to other areas of my life. It has been humbling and an honor to receive the support from so many of you - even those who did not live in my district - who supported me with you prayers and financial support.
I don't believe this is the last you will see of Scott Helman in the political arena.
As a coach I look at loss as an opportunity to learn and become stronger. While it is never fun to lose, I understand the benefit that will come from it. You can be sure that we will overcome this defeat and become victorious in the future.
Abraham Lincoln was a great American who overcame defeat - but he exemplified the American spirit of never ever giving up. We must resolve that OUR message of truth, OUR message of hope and OUR message of conservative values is the right message.
I hope that you will take time to pray for our country and pray for our leaders. They will need God's grace and God's wisdom to lead.
Thank you for your support - and stay tuned because as Arnold says - "I'll be back!"
Thank you,
Scott Helman
